Poke in the Eye: Art of the West Coast Counterculture

Overview

This exhibition celebrated an alternative and oft-overlooked story in art history: the aesthetic practices that emerged in the West Coast in the 1960s and ‘70s as counter to the New York-centric avant-garde. The exhibition primarily featured on SAM’s permanent collection to present a broader, more inclusive view of overlapping countercultural art movements.

My Role
I lead our creative campaign development timeline and workflow and the production of our creative asset suite from kickoff and throughout the duration of the exhibition, totaling over 8 months.
